The teaching quality of the IH network is based on the professionalism of its teachers: People with a sufficient level of education (minimum BAC+3) and significant experience in teaching the target language. IH NANCY privileges native speakers of the language taught in its language training courses in order to convey an authentic message to teachers (natural accentuation, prosody and intonation) and to integrate the notion of interculturality innately within the training courses. Our pedagogical approach: Learners are social and professional actors who have to carry out tasks based on organized and purposeful action, combining thinking with doing. Learning a foreign language is not just about mastering grammar, spelling or syntax... Through professional and everyday communication situations, based on ONLY authentic documents, learners will discover linguistic constructs that they will learn and be able to re-use in their daily professional or social lives. Linguistic knowledge (vocabulary, spelling, grammar, prosody, etc.) will be worked on inductively: from MEANING to FORM.
- Formative assessment is an essential component of our teaching approach at International House Nancy, and is integrated throughout the learning process. Our teachers use a variety of tools and methods to regularly assess learners' progress, including in-class exercises, group activities, oral presentations, quizzes and guided discussions.
- Textbooks and teaching aids: We use recognized textbooks in the FLE field, as well as complementary materials such as exercise books, audio CDs, videos and visual aids to reinforce language skills.
- Online platforms and digital tools: We use online learning platforms and interactive digital tools to provide access to additional content, self-correcting exercises, educational videos and fun activities.
- Authentic documents: We use authentic documents such as newspaper articles, advertisements, songs, films and TV series to expose learners to the language in real, current contexts.
- Audio and video support: We use audio recordings and videos to improve listening comprehension, pronunciation and familiarization with accents and linguistic variations
- Access to Online Resources: We offer access to online resources such as articles, videos, interactive exercises and discussion forums to encourage independent learning and ongoing practice outside the classroom.
